"Aimee has been a member now for 9 years and joined initally due to other friends/family having girls dancing at LA. I believe LA has had a huge impact on Aimees confidence. Its also taught her about commitment, dedication & team work. She has loved dancing with her cousin Sophia over the years and it has created an unbreakable bond between the 2 of them. Since they were wee toots they have had so much fun being away together at weekend dance comps, staying in hotels together. Taking Aimee to dance comps has also given us some special mum/daughter time together and memories I will treasure. Aimee is dedicated to her team. So much so she declined to come on a family holiday with us for our silver anniversary because the dates clashed with a dance comp (which i didn’t have in my calendar - whoops - I’ve aways been a rubbish dance mum. A stand out moment for us was Aimee's team, LA Platinum. They were a special bunch of girls who bonded so well. They were all delighted with the sleepover which Aimee really, really enjoyed. The memories from that night will stay with her forever. I would like to thank you for contributing towards the person Aimee is today and who and what she will become in the future. "Watching my daughter move from a recreational cheer class into her first year of competitive cheerleading has been a big shift. Her recreational class was all about fun, basic skills, and building confidence in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. It was a great introduction and helped her develop a love for cheerleading and hip hop.
Competitive cheer, however, brought a much higher level of commitment from both my daughter and us as parents. Practices were more structured, with an expectation to practice more at home and with a strong focus on technique, precision, and teamwork. It also required a significant investment of both time and money, which is an important factor for any family considering the transition.
What stood out most was how much she grew in confidence and maturity. She learned the importance of teamwork, developed a sense of accountability, and learned how to handle both success and setbacks. While it was more demanding, it was also far more rewarding. Seeing her performing at her first ever competition with a group of lovely girls she calls friends is something we will remember forever.
Overall, recreational cheer was a wonderful starting point, but competitive cheer has helped her grow not just as an athlete, but as a person.

"We have been part of LA Dance and Cheer for 4 years now. Our journey began after Louisa watched performances at her school when she was in P1 and was immediately inspired to join. At the time she was a very shy little girl who needed quite a bit of encouragement to go into training (white knuckles clinging to my arms!), but we knew as soon as she was in she loved it.
Over the years, Louisa has developed beyond what we ever expected. She has grown in both skill and confidence, transforming from a child who had to be gently persuaded to join in, into a confident and enthusiastic dancer who now runs into training with excitement. Her performance ability, coordination, and stage presence have all come on hugely during her time with LA.
The friendships she has made have been one of the most special parts of the experience. She has formed strong friendships with children from a range of schools across the area, many of which we believe will last for life. The teamwork within her group has also helped her learn how to support others, work collaboratively, and feel part of something bigger than herself.
The coaches have always been encouraging, patient, and genuinely invested in the children’s development, both as athletes and as individuals. What has kept us coming back each season is the combination of Louisa’s enjoyment, her continued development, and the sense of belonging she feels within her team and the wider LA family. Some of our standout memories are from the competitions themselves—the excitement of performing, the buzz of the day, and of course all the fun in between at the hotels and caravans. This is the first time my daughter has been a flyer so moving clubs and going from an U14 level 1 base to a Senior level 2 flyer was very nerve racking not knowing people and she doubted herself initially but the team were so welcoming and made her feel at ease from the get go.

"I had been part of LA dance & Cheer for about 12 years and had such an amazing positive experience. LA brings so much fun and great opportunities, as I was able to go to Florida twice with the club and also represent as Team Scotland at the World Championships which was a life changing experience. They have such amazing coaches there who treat you like family which makes it such a joyful place to go to. The members and coaches are what makes LA a very welcoming club to be part of. LA Dance & Cheer is a fantastic place to meet new friends, during my time at LA I made some lifelong best friends who I still keep in contact with today.
