LA Dance & Cheer was first opened as a small dance school over 25 years ago in Portlethen.  It has grown over the years and in 2002 the introduction of Allstar Cheerleading and Dance saw the dance school grow and flourish with these more modern and popular subjects.
Over the years, classes have also taken place in Laurencekirk between 2008 - 2014 and previously in Stonehaven 2006 - 2009 (only having to stop due to building alterations to Mackie Academy's PE Dept)

Classes are available in Allstar Cheerleading, Pom Dance, Hip Hop, Jazz/Lyrical, Tumbling & Pre-School. Classes are available for both girls and boys from 3yrs and over. LA DANCE & CHEER have classes for those who wish to join one of our award winning competitive teams OR our sister club - ALLSTAR CHEER DANCE & GYMNASTICS have classes for those who wish to participate recreationally.

LA Dance & Cheer are proud to be able to provide a Fully Sprung Cheer/Gymnastics Floor, Dance Studio with Sprung Marley Floor, full length Dance Mirrors, Reception, Changing Area, Waiting Area, Shop as well as a 30ft Tumble Track, Air Floors and other various gymnastics mats/equipment.

Our motto is:
"Work Hard, Aim High, Dream Big"

Our Coaches will always believe in you, even when you doubt yourself. We promote positivity and encouragement and urge all athletes to reach for the stars & never give up!

Portlethen Cheerleaders Association is our not for profit club that runs alongside LA Dance & Cheer Ltd.  It became a SCIO charity in 2015 and this club will now legally be known as Limits Allstars Dance and Cheer SC046257.   Fundraising events are held throughout the season to help provide various equipment, uniforms, further training to advance the members in the sport & help with costs towards competitions.  All with the aim to help further and advance the sport of Allstar  Cheerleading and Dance while promoting it in the community.

In 2019, both the Junior and Senior Hip Hop Teams were awarded bids at National Competitions held in England to attend the World Dance Championships again in Orlando in 2020.  Sadly, due to Covid-19 the Championships were cancelled and the teams were unable to compete in 2020.

In 2018 both the Junior & Senior Hip Hop Teams were invited to represent their country as Team Scotland again for the ICU and USASF World Championships in Orlando.  The Junior Team are now ranked 3rd in the World with a Bronze medal and the Senior Team are now ranked 10th in the World. LA also had two members (Maya & Alyssa) represent Scotland in the Hip Hop Duet Category.  They are ranked 10th in the Wolrd!

In 2016 the Senior Hip Hop team attended the ICU and USASF World  Cheer & Dance Championships in Orlando, Florida as Team Scotland after winning the Senior Hip Hop Division at the Scotcheer National Championships in April 2015.  They were so honoured to be able to represent their country at both competitions, securing a 12th in the world placing at both competitions.

Also, in 2010 after winning bids at a national competition in Glasgow, the Youth and Senior Cheer teams and Youth and Senior Hip Hop teams travelled to Orlando, Florida in April 2011 to compete at the US Finals Championships.
The teams' determination and hard work certainly paid off with two 3rd places in Cheer and two 1st places for Hip Hop.
